WP Head Optimizer

Description

WordPress always add many meta tags as well as links, urls scripts and many additional things to WordPress head section and this plugin helps to remove that additional added code stuff and that will increase site performance, security and reduce the HTTP requests of the page and that definitely helps to the site.

For backwards compatibility, if this section is missing, the full length of the short description will be used, and
Markdown parsed.

Using this plugin you can enable / disable below things that can surely helps your site to load faster and provide some security as well.

  • Disable WP Emoji CSS & Script
  • Remove Canonical URL
  • Remove WordPress Version for security purpose
  • Remove Shortlink
  • Remove RSS Feed URL
  • Remove EditURI Link
  • Disable JSON API
  • Remove Style and Script Versions
  • Remove WLW Manifest
  • Remove Next/Previous Post URLs Links
  • Remove REST API link tag
  • Remove oEmbed Discovery Links

Installation

  1. Extract the zip file into your /wp-content/plugins/ directory or upload through wordpress back end
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Go to Dashboard -> WP Head Optimizer
  4. Remove / Disable the extra added links or ulrs or scripts from WordPress default
  5. You are done. Enjoy Plugin!

Other similar plugins like this one were just too bloated. This one has a nice clean settings page and just covers WordPress itself. It doesn't try to clean up other plugins which I appreciate because it keeps this plugin focused.
